What You Need to Know about CEREC®

A beautiful smile doesn’t have to take months, even if you have cracked or chipped teeth. Thanks to the revolutionary chairside dentistry offered by your Pasadena dentist, you can have an eye-catching grin in a single dental appointment.

Remarkable Chairside Dentistry in Pasadena

Dr. Paul Shinto and his team are one of the few dental practices in Pasadena who offer CEREC®, which stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. CEREC ® repairs chipped, cracked, and broken teeth and can even fill small spaces between teeth and brighten teeth that cannot be lightened with professional tooth whitening products.

How Does CEREC® Work?

CEREC® machines rely on 3D digital scans to create long lasting dental restorations such as crowns, fillings, inlays, and onlays. The machine will create the size and shape of your tooth while matching it to the color of your natural teeth. All of this is done in a single dental appointment.

What is the CEREC® Process?

If you and your team of Pasadena dentists decide that CEREC® is a good fit for you and your smile, digital pictures are the first step in the process. Digital pictures eliminate the need for messy and goopy dental impressions.

Once the pictures are created, your dentist in Pasadena will send the images to the in-house milling machine for manufacture. Once your new dental restoration is ready, it will be checked for fit and color before being cemented into place.

Do CEREC® Crowns Look Natural?

CEREC® crowns are made from dental products that mimic the same reflections as natural teeth. In other words, your new crowns will look natural and because there is no metal involved, you won’t have to worry about a black line above your dental crown.

Is CEREC® Available Everywhere?

Because CEREC® is a specialty and requires further education and training not every dentist in Pasadena is a preferred provider. CEREC® also requires additional equipment.
