CEREC® Crowns are the answer if you don’t have the time or the money to fix your teeth. CEREC® Crowns from Dr. Paul Shinto and his team of Pasadena Dentists are more affordable than traditional crowns as the CAD/CAM dentistry used with CEREC® is done in-house and during the same dental appointment.

Just what are CEREC® CROWNS?

If you have a weakened, cracked, or fractured tooth that requires a crown, CEREC® could be the answer. In the past, you would need two dental appointments with a temporary crown being placed until your new crown was made in a dental laboratory, but thankfully, CEREC® Crowns are measured, made, and fitted in a single dental visit.

While CEREC® looks no different from a conventional crown, which are caps that are made to cover a tooth, CEREC® Crowns are made from a durable ceramic, which looks just as natural as your own teeth. The ceramic blocks used for CEREC® Crowns come in a wide variety of shades to match the natural color of your teeth.

What is the CEREC® procedure?

Dr. Paul Shinto and his team of Pasadena Dentists will first check out your smile to make sure that the CEREC® Crown system is right for you. If you are a good candidate, your dentist will first prepare your tooth by removing the enamel before buffing. Impressions will be taken using CAD/CAM technology eliminating the need for messy impressions.

Once the images are uploaded to the computer, a dental crown will be sent to a milling machine where the new dental crown will be made while you wait. Once the crown is finished, your dentist will bond it directly to your tooth.

CEREC® is perfect for people who want to avoid using metal or have had crowns in the past that were manufactured out of porcelain over metal. Those types of crowns will have a black line at the bottom unlike CEREC® Crowns that look perfectly natural.

If you have a cracked tooth or a tooth with a large filling, you may be a good candidate, but the only way you will know for sure is to schedule an appointment with Dr. Paul Shinto and his team of Pasadena Dentists.

Dr. Shinto and his team are licensed and trained to fit CEREC® Crowns, which are much more affordable than you think.
