The CEREC Crown Dental Process

The CEREC Crown Dental Process

CEREC is the fast and affordable way to get a new smile in 2017 and unlike traditional dental crowns can be placed in a single dental appointment.

CEREC is the chairside dental procedure that can take your crooked, worn, stained or chipped smile from sad to happy in one dental appointment, however, not all dentists in Pasadena are equipped for CEREC.

Known as CAD/CAM dentistry the chairside procedure is more affordable and much more esthetic than traditional dental crowns.

Traditional Crowns take about and hour and half, and that’s not all. Traditional dental crowns require a 30-minute follow up visit. With CEREC crowns, the entire procedure is done in office in 1.5 to 2 hours. However, during your appointment you can relax, read, check your social media and email, or watch television.

The Process

Dr. Paul Shinto and his team of Pasadena dentists will examine your teeth to explore the options for appropriate treatment. Once it has been decided that a full dental crown would be the best treatment for the damaged tooth or teeth the decay is removed along with any infection.

A digital impression is taken of the tooth or teeth before being sent to Dr. Shinto’s CEREC system to be analyzed. This takes one or two minutes unlike those messy impression trays used for traditional dental crowns.

The software used by Dr. Shinto and his Pasadena Dentists team converts the digital impressions into a 3-D model. This gives the doctors the information they need to design your new dental crown. The software allows the team to create a more precise and accurate crown. After the crown is designed, it will be sent to the in office milling machine to be made into your new tooth.

The milling unit makes a dental crown to fit perfectly over your tooth based on the software design. The crown is made out of a block of ceramic that will match the rest of your natural teeth or restorations. Done in office, the crown fabrication takes about twenty minutes to finish.

Dr. Shinto and his team of dentists in Pasadena will try on the crown to make sure it fits properly making final adjustments if necessary. Once fitted your dentist will bond the tooth before polishing and removing excess cement.

With CEREC Crowns, you can have a new smile in a single dental appointment. Call Dr. Paul Shinto and his team of Pasadena dentists for a no obligation CEREC Crown appointment today.
